Luke was admitted as a barrister in the UK in 1991 and subsequently practised as a common law barrister in England and Wales. In 1997, Luke was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in Western Australia, where he has practised since as both an employed solicitor and an independent barrister.
Luke has experience of conducting a range of civil cases, particularly those involving contract, commercial and trade practices disputes; insurance and risk management matters; professional negligence claims; and workplace injuries, toxic torts and product liability.
Luke has regularly appeared as an advocate in State and Federal courts, conducting a variety of trials, appeals and interlocutory matters. He is a LEADR accredited mediator, and has participated in numerous mediations.
